how this amp in 2020? I would be pairing this with non-Sennheiser phones.
I've been looking for technical details of the amp and hardly anything out there even on Sennheiser's site.
- DAC chip?
- max power for XXohm impedance chart
Thank you.
How much if you don’t mind me asking ?Not bargain price but it's supposedly brand new (leftover stock from long ago)
Much cheaper than that in local (non-£) currency. If I have to guess it's around £600 posted in local currency. How much if you don’t mind me asking ?
There is a pre-owned one available on eBay atm from a hi-fi dealer for £899 , but there is a £75 discount available. They are also taking offers. Might be worth a look.
Depending on condition , I’d say that’s fairly good. The amp was obviously designed for the 800 series headphones, so they will drive any headphone. As for if you can get a better dac…..after the amount of time it’s been out …probably. But I’m happy with it. I did consider splashing out on a chord dac… But not sure I can justify a £1000 outlay.Much cheaper than that in local (non-£) currency. If I have to guess it's around £600 posted in local currency.
It has an output impedance of 43 so best for higher impedance hps. The dac chip was never considered anything overly special. i think it is an akm chiphow this amp in 2022? I would be pairing this with non-Sennheiser phones.

It was a TI chip. Depending price, I would not get this unless u can get one for under $650.It has an output impedance of 43 so best for higher impedance hps. The dac chip was never considered anything overly special. i think it is an akm chip
It is pretty good..but as you have noted hit and miss with some or low impedance phones.BTW HDVD is fabolous
Over the years Bryston has always been very good with all my headphones especially the AKGs starting with from the K240DF (600 Ohms), K501, K701, K712 and the K812 and K872.... the amp does matter.BHA-1 has much lower output impedance.
