I'm glad I scored one of these when I did as they are no longer in stock and not sure if they will be again. It's even nicer than it seems in the pictures.

Amazing bargain isn't it?

I think it's different for everybody, for me who has a pretty big head and lower than usual positioned ears, HD800 is a pain to wear, on the other hand, LCD4 and HE1000 are much more comfortable for me.

My head is not very big (7 5/8 hat size), but I don't have any issues with my HD650 headphones which are known to have issues with pressure. I asked a Sennheiser stockist about variations in padding between the HD800 headbands and apparently their isn't any. I'll try to find out from Sennheiser.

Any suggestion on a good cable for the HD800/HD800S? I am currently using the Cardas Clear cable and it is awesome but want to compare to other ones.

Obnoxious long build time wait, extraordinarily expensive, only order once mine is made and shipped. Double helix cables.

Honeymoon, just received the HD800S. Its magnificence is even better with some sonic glow.

HD800S Bass is incredibly enormous despite all I read about the hd800!

How would you compare the Figaro to the Valhalla2?
Like the look of it and I am sure the sound is good too with the HD800s.

Never tried schiit amps sorry.

Yes it does sound good. Heres the guts of thé amp. I basically changed every single component in that amp with better one, and a custom rectifier

The La Figaro is a lot different sounding from the Valhalla 2 as far as I'm aware, the V2 is really neutral at least with stock tubes. I love the La Figaro, I'm sure it sounds great with the HD800S (does with the regular 800). I love the way the 339 looks, it's a beautiful amp, reminds me of the Zana Deux design in a way but better.

Agreed. Double Helix Cables. I have their latest Complement4 series in copper. Expensive enough. The upgrade to copper/silver blend is very expensive. Pure silver is obscenely expensive. Wait time right now is about 5 months. It's probably a small operation. Worth the wait in my opinion.

Mmmm....problem could be unit-specific because the HD 800/S are  the most comfortable headphones in my small collection and the 800 design has been around since 2009. Ergonomics is 10/10. The least comfortable? My LCD X. Spectacular sound, crushing weight. Ergonomics is 6/10.

Gotta agree about the LCD-X. I love them. They're my go-to headphones for most music genres but those cans are so heavy! I get why a lot of people will go to HifiMan for their planar magnetics. I've never owned a Hifiman and now I own the LCD-X so that's that. But the weight... you can't wear them for hours and hours like with the HD 800 series.
