Are there any aftermarket pads for these that do not change the OEM sound quality, but may hold up better to wear?
After going through 3 pairs of OEM pads I started using sheepskin versions back in 2019 and since then I'm only on my 2nd pair.

Anyway, rather inexpensive and worth a try, there are solid (slightly more bass) and perforated versions (similar to stock)..I've been happy with them and cannot ever see going back to the stock pads.

Finally received received my replacement sheepskin/pleather pads from Aliexpress, https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003371203834.html....and yes at a 3rd the price these are the exact same as my initial sheepskin/pleather pair bought on Amazon but do not include the removal tool.

So true....so far since 201516 5 pairs of pads and 4 balanced cables.
Previously posted these....
Probably body oils,

Whisker rash. : )

Body oils again.....I'm on my 4th stock balanced cable, Sennheiser made good on each one.
Oddly in over 50 years of headphone ownership they've been the only cable to do this.

I am using this since 2019
Believe we both started at the same time and I was also originally using Amazon from AHG Accessory House Global but discovered they are just re-branding the same ones available on Aliexpress, but one doesn't get next day delivery. : )

Original pair....June 2019

I'm actually rather careful about my equipment, but like a pair of shoes eventually they will exhibit wear and tear regardless of how careful one is.
I'd rather have disintegrated pads than shoe soles, which happened to me a month ago when my wife and I went to ballet.

Can you imagine that nightmare...
My shoe soles started disintegrating after we got out of the cab, and in front of the entrance I almost lost both soles completely:))))

Your pads looked way better than my soles when we got home.
However, my performance was outstanding, as no one noticed the pieces of soles I left behind me. :)

Only Charlie Chaplin and I :)

Cheers!
