Ironically, it was my first headphone, and I didn't even know it was the best at the time.

I am wiser now with experience under my belt.

Now THAT is a testimonial!
That list has many very highly-regarded headphones in it.

I just purchased the HD650s also, and am still burning them in. I've been a Grado purist for years now and remain a loyal devotee of my beloved RS-1s. However, I wanted some cans for classical, where the Grados do not excel (in my opinion). I am thrilled with the HD 650s for classical (and jazz and rock, for that matter). These two sets of cans could not have a more different signature and that's why they compliment each other so well, at least for me. Finally, I feel "complete" in my search for total headphone nirvana!

Word complete in your sentence doesn't go with the tradition of head-fi

Got my HD650 3 years ago — I use it with a tube amp: EarTube (Jan Meier's version of AudioValve)

I also have others (AKG K340, K1000, Ergo2, Ergo AMT, AKG K240 Monitor, K240 Sexett, Beyer DT880 etc) — but for me it can be compared with the best headphones.

I do prefer the K1000 and the AMT — but it's shurely as good as the K340 or the Beyer.
