If you need an amp the hd53r works well with the hd650. It also has the advantage to be able to set another more sensitive headphone at the same time at a lower volume setting so it doesn't sound too loud

Lol, you'd think 650s were an unheard-of rarity instead of everyone and their dog having them.

At first I was wondering if this was a really old thread that just got bumped up.

Nice pictures, although the review part lacks any depth, and you've also got some numbers confused.

How can you have used them for 400 hours and they've been burned in for 120? Unless your after 100 hours comment means after 220 hours.

Yes,I'm aware that review in terms of head-fi lacks any depth .I will add more to the review when I will get a better amp what I'm having right now .

well,You can say that my petite review is after 400 hours of use .

Thanks for your impressions. Have you tried removing the dampening material?

Are you talking about the outer structure ?

@progo:Thanks ,Silky smooth will be more appropriate to describe its treble .

Well, after my long and expensive journey of hearing/owning the RS-1, RS-2, K701/2, K240 sextett, L3000, PS-1, GS-1000, W5000, HP1000, DX1000, D5000, AD2000, K1000 and probably more that I am forgetting, I have finally realized that the HD650 is what I have been searching for this entire time.

Ironically, it was my first headphone, and I didn't even know it was the best at the time.

I am wiser now with experience under my belt.

Wow. What a journey...and makes me happy because I've had the HD650 as my favorite for a long time. I've never owned much more expensive cans(not that I could afford them) but I've heard many top choices.

I say give the guy a break. I've never seen the 650 stripped down to that extend. It took a brave man to do that with his new baby.

I agree with your impressions on the HD650 Stuge. Love my pair.

Happy listening.
