Brian at Razordog is awesome. If you don't care about warranty, Shoreline music has new ones in their closeout section for $325.

I'd say if you don't like the soundstage, yes the 650's are going to suit you better, they do games and movies just fine, as far as the Price there is always razordog deals, an authorized seller that selsl on ebay, you're still covered under warranty, since your invoice from paypal to him is your reciept. He keeps items like this listed as private also. Make him an offer, or wait. Many forum members buy from him. Never seen a compaint that I recall.  good luck.

Is there anywhere I could call in and get these for 400 or under or am I stuck looking at used pairs? And, how does the soundstage compare to AKG Q701s? I find the Q701s a little too distant sometimes, a little too large, especially for certain rock recordings or poorly done recordings that have instruments thrown all into the extremes of the soundstage. Are the HD 650s a little more realistic? How do they do for films and games?

Haggle with a local store. I got my local long & mcquade to do $405 plus tax on my hd600. See if they will price match, and say you have been a loyal customer, and would hate to have to take your buisness elseware. (also good to lower your cell phone bills

I ordered a wireless audio transceiver. Super fast shipping. Seemed like a great company. The HD650's are listed as "Overstock. Regular price $499. Several available at this price. Sold as-is." The guy told me they were new though and never opened.

Whoever hears about a HD650 breaking? That being said, I'd probably pay $20 more and get them authorized from Brian.

I have HD558's and HD650's currently..   love my HD650's to death and figured I would ask your folks opinions on this:  Have an opportunity to grab a set of HD600's from a friend.  Is there enough of a sonic difference between the HD600's and my current collection to make it worthwhile?  I've tried reading about this as much as possible but it often appears that in reviews the 600/650 get lumped together despite headfonia's review stating they are different.

Anyone own both and like them both?

I have the 600 and i used to own the 558. I find the 558 is (slightly) more aggressive in the upper mids/treble, while the 600 hits harder down low, is more balanced/neutral has better imaging and seperation as well as a larger soundstage. For me it was a definate upgrade. The 600 sounds more like a high end can. The 600 and 650 are more alike than diffrent. i find the 650's are a slightly darker 600.
