BTW, can someone explain to me in plane inglish just exactly what the Music Streamer II+ is doing that's so vastly improving my headphone experience?
 
I would have thought it was the amp responsible for bass extension and impact - but my amp hasn't changed (E9), just the DAC.

the dac has an amp section supplying the signal to the e9. the music streamers analog amp section must be a tad colored.

How are you amping them?  DAC in the stream anywhere?

I kid... I might want to get something like that Audeze LCD-2 but that's not until I graduate college and get a nice salary.
 
I have a X-FI Xtremegamer sound card in my PC that I use as a DAC. My FIIO E9 is my amp.
 
Music sounds amazing. I don't think it's really necessary to change the DAC.
