I hate you.

Lol. I've gotta admit I was seriously considering the project ember you've given good reviews of, but I'm a sucker for that retro look. The silver hammered finish on the base of the crack doesn't sit well for me, but I've now received a piece of highly-figured curly maple and spoken with a local cabinetmaker with some drawings etc. She'll look a real beauty when I'm done :)

Yeah, those amps do look great. I would consider the Crack too but I want something more flexible which is why I'm going with the Ember.

Might pain you to hear I paid less for the S.E.X. (omg that sounds bad) than the Crack but the S.E.X. was stock and the Crack has the Speedball, Alps pot and came with five tubes in total. Both were great deals :)

I'll miss the joy of DIY but these guys did amazing builds - zero hum, interference or magic smoke!

And you live in God's country. I still hate you.

BTW look up dyson audio sennheiser hd650 replacement cable. I just received mine in the mail with the headphones, 4 conductor silver plated litz cable, 5 feet long for right around $50 dollars. Great build quality it appears, nice heavy duty amphenol 1/4 jack. I need to give it a proper listen but some initial differences I heard was a slight more sparkle and extension to the treble. Will post more findings as everything burns in

would really like to see a picture of the cable.

I found this which may not be the right cable since not the same price, but let me know if this helps.

I had originally not found it when I googled it so I changed the formatting when searching it a little.
