Pair the HD650's with a Bottlehead Crack running a Tung-sol 5998 and a RCA clear top and listen again my friend.

T1's are excellent phones I love mine but holy smoke does the 650 sound good with the Crack, it starts to reach into T1 territory for sure. I still use my 650's daily. My other half prefers the 650 over the T1 it really depends on what you like to listen to.

Edit thought I would add for balance the T1's qualities sneak up on you it would be extremely hard to get a handle on how good they actually are with a quick listen they are not wow factor phones but very neutral, accurate and fast which is something you either love or hate and can be very picky on what they are paired with but when you get it right they are very good indeed.

Pair the HD650 with a Schiit Mjolnir by a balanced cable, they are magic!

Hi, how is HiFi-M8 compared to DACMini CX? Which is better?

I almost pulled the trigger on the DACMini many times.  Michael has stated on several instances that both share the same DAC section, so similar tone is to be expected, which I agree.  The DACmini has more power, but the HiFi-M8 has tone shaping, impedance and gain settings, and balanced out.  I'm glad I held out for this new item.

And, most importantly, its a great match with my 650s.....

IMHO, maximum SQ improvement by a cable is %5.

IMHO, 8%.   :p

So here is what will happen:

  • Cables dont do anything.
  • Cables do something.
  • Make cables only if you want it to look better or/and be more ergonomic.

So lets not get derailed here arguing about whether or not cables change SQ... again.

I just did that a couple hours ago.  I'm now also in the 650 Club.  I re terminated my 600 cable with a Neutrik 4 pin and have been enjoying the 600s a very lot out of the Mjolnir.  Also the 700s a bit but I keep going back to the 600.  Don't have the means to get the 800s on there yet, though.  That's next.

Fresh pads and headband.  New headphone smell.  Mmmmm.

Has anyone compared the Bottlehead Crack with the new Schiit Vali on the HD650s?  I am just curious of the differences.

I ordered a Vali, and it has already been shipped.

But now I am wondering if I should have ordered a Bottlehead Crack kit instead.

Do you still have the Sonnet in your profile? What version/configuration do you have and how does it compare to the MJ? You have a nice collection of Senns there.
