Another works from calico, Indonesia's fine woody craftman...

Woods: "Tiger" wood, "Jati"/Indonesian teak wood
Tools: his self-built DIY CnC milling machine

Fresh from the oven, un-waxed woody (Tiger Wood)

Hmm looks like it could use a finer grill underneath. Definitely look great tho.

calico is taking orders locally right now in Indonesia, but he's doing it on his spare times (he has regular works to do).

As for order to International destination, we're still looking for shipment options here in Indonesia.

The woody is quite thick, and is unlikely to be broken when falls from ~1-2 meter distance.
A grill maybe is a good option.

We're making this woody, so our Senns can be more open than it's stock grills.
The sound (tested on HD600) with woody is more open and refined to our taste, and soften out some frequency response.

With HD580, this woody can bring control to it's bass response.

having auditioned both the HD580 and HD600 woody, I've come to the conclusion that the woodies give the HD580/600 a slightly more open sound, smoother & mids, and more controlled but less impactful lows.

they sound good on vocals and jazz, but on classical and/or other fast-paced songs, sounds a tad too soft and somehow less dynamic... for instance, when I listen to Vanessa Mae's "Toccata and Fugue in D minor", I never get that "holy mother, how come Mae plays so fast" feeling...

those are based on my ears though, so YMMV

unimportant addition: on the first post, that's me with the yellow shirt

and my little brother (brown shirt) sitting on my lap, listening to the HD600 woody

I like the look, but I don't have to lose my lows.

Would he be interested in making less open versions? lol
