Who's for another helping of shiny new Senn goodies?

Sorry if this has been mentioned before and I've missed it - but there are some new portable headphones on Sennheiser's website, which have escaped everyone's notice in the midst of HD800-mania.

HD 218

HD 228

HD 238 Precision

I'm very interested in the 238s - possibly a new contender in the upper-end portable market?

Bumping my own thread here, but has anyone found these for sale? I'm quite keen to take one for the team with the 238 and report back, as long as they aren't prohibitively expensive.

I'm interested in these too but I can't find them anywhere. I asked at Guitar Center but they didn't have them or knew anything about them.

Anyone knows how much they are? where to find them? how big are they? are they about the size of the px200 or bigger?

The local distributor told me the HD 238 is CHF 80.- ≈ US$ 70.- -- and available at the same time as the HD 800 (i.e. mid-March in the US).

ok thanks, maybe the 228 and 218 are around $50 or less.

If they sound 1/28th as good as the HD 800 they will be a good value I say.

FYI - I placed an order for the Sennheiser HD 228 today for $70. They are being shipped from Chicago, and I should receive them in a couple of days.

Can anyone comment on the size and sound of the 238's? I am about to buy a new pair of cans and I have narrowed it down to these or the Grado SR-60's, but it seems no one has really heard these. I plan on driving them from a D2 with no amp.

Sennheiser HD 238 -- first impressions

The earpieces measure 71 x 58 mm.

I haven't listened to it for a while now. No new toy syndrome here...
