  Well I got the HD 650s as a Christmas gift, that was one nice surprise. Upon opening them I unboxed them and plugged them into our sound system, and was thoroughly impressed with them. But not as much from my laptop or iPod. SO I am wondering what amp to go with for them? I would like a variety of recommendations, i would prefer something under 150... but I would still like some more high end suggestions. Thanks.

I am using an E9/E17 setup with mine and they sound great. I will admit that I haven't tried any others, but I am happy with the sound. 
 
BTW congrats on the great Christmas present.

Considering that he said he plugged them into his sound system, I presume he means on the go. Just because he'll probably only have access to his sound system at home. I can't recommend anything as the only amp/dac I have is the Fiio E7.

I would prefer portable amps. since it is a bit more versatile ..... thank you for replies I will check those out.

I have definitely used my E17 by itself when traveling with both my ipod and my laptop. It is surprisingly good by itself.

If I were you, I'd probably wait around for some people with a few more recommendations or look for some sort of comparison thread just so you have more options and potentially get a better idea of what you want.
