It's possible the usb adapter does not like the 4 pole connector that also carries a signal to adjust volume and track selection.

Have you tried using the phones on any other device.

Possible but as mentioned may be a mismatch with the USB configuration and the phone.

Thank you for helping me out sir. Though my usb c adapter is relative cheap but it's working fine with other headphones. Maybe this headphone has more complicated functions than usual. So I hope what you said is right. I can only comeback to my laptop and desk setup in the next 2 days. Hoping it will working fine. Thank you for your advises. I will update about my situation as soon as possible.

Remember the the HD630VB was released in early 2015, so preceded a lot of USB audio adapters as most phones at the time still had discrete headphone jacks so was probably never tested for such. Still IMHO a pretty good sounding and versatile headphone though.

Does anyone know of a cheap case that would fit? My headphones are getting scratched and I'm afraid I'll kill them without a case
