Hi Guys,

last week was horrible for me, i've spotted an Sennheiser HD 580 Jubilee complete with Box in decent
condition, just read the announce 2 hours (!) too late and so it was gone for a price that low...you won't
believe me. :frowning2:( Apart from that, i've shot a Sennheiser HD 580 Precision cheap @ebay this week, and
wondering if the HD 650 Head Pad would fit...i think so. I already ordered the Metal Grills for my HD 580,
because i can't stand the plastic look of the original ones. I own a HD 650 since 2010, but i've often
read that the HD 580/HD600's sound "faster" and not "laid-back" as the HD 650...so i wanted to give
the HD 580's a try.

Herzliche Grüße von Amerika!

Which metal grills did you get? I saw a list of the repair parts prices somewhere here and was surprised to see how much more the HD650 grills cost than the HD600 ones. I think on the HD650's the grills even cost more than the drivers.

HD600 metal grills go for less than $15 from Sennheiser last time I checked. The USA Sennheiser have them priced much higher as I was advised by a poster. The grills are pretty much the same as the 650's. Given said that, HD580/Jubilee/600/650 parts are all interchangeable. The 580 and 600 are more neutral than the HD650 and they are a favourite amongst head-fier's here. The HD650 is more warmer. The Jubilee is indeed a special edition HD580 but it is in fact pretty much an HD600. The HD600's are 580 drivers in the 600 housing and headband. What makes the difference is the 580 driver capsule plate holder has thin layered paper sound filters for the inner port holes. The 600 is using some sort of plastic or mylar looking filter. The 600 has clear membrane cone on the drivers, the 580 has a faded yellowish clear membrane.
