Hello, everyone I am looking to buy my first pair of cans and I have narrowed it down to the Sennheiser HD 558 or the HD 380. I currently own some westone 4s with a fiio e17 dac/amp and I am looking for some cans for home use. I have tried out cans before but they always seem uncomfortable so I have been using IEMs for the past 5 years. I am trying to figure out which one of these headphones the the most comfortable to wear that will be used for home listening with a fiio e09k. If there is any other suggestions for headphones under $200 that would also be gladly appreciated.

I know little about the HD380, but do own the HD558s
Sometimes you can get used HD558s for just over $100 on Amazon or eBay.
I would guess the Fiio E17, using both it's DAC and amp. would provide better audio quality, over the E09K.
What source(s) do you plan on plugging the headphones into?

I'm not familiar with the 380's, but have been able to spend some time with the 558's. They are very comfortable cans.

The 558's don't need a lot of amping so I think the E17 will be fine to use rather than the E09K - assuming you don't already have it.

I have tried the HD598 (same aesthetics as 558) and they are super comfortable cans.
What genres of music do you listen to?
