Sennheiser HD-1000 Headphone

Looks very interesting.

But are Sennheiser fixated on kitchen gadgets? The HD600 looks like oversized serving tongs, and the earcups on these look like colanders!

Why haven't I heard of these already anyway? Are they new or what?

Hmm... 50th anniversary? What year are they at now? [goes to sennheiser.com]

edit: hmm, so, about 5 years old...

I think it looks like the person child of k1000s and v700s.

Sennheiser was founded in 1945. That makes these headphones about 6 - 7 years old. Looks odd though..

Hi!

I saw these about 8 years ago, if I remember correctly.
They had the name "HD-1000 Charleston" and were more expensive than their followers, HD-580 and HD-600. The sound quality was quite high, but no match for the HD-600, according to one old audio magazine.
