But are Sennheiser fixated on kitchen gadgets? The HD600 looks like oversized serving tongs, and the earcups on these look like colanders!

Sennheiser was founded in 1945. That makes these headphones about 6 - 7 years old. Looks odd though..

Hi!

I saw these about 8 years ago, if I remember correctly.
They had the name "HD-1000 Charleston" and were more expensive than their followers, HD-580 and HD-600. The sound quality was quite high, but no match for the HD-600, according to one old audio magazine.

Interesting... The HD580 Jubilee's were released as a 50th anniversery set and these are the predecessors to the HD600's. I didn't realize they had another anniversery model.
