I am burning in a pair of EH 350 headphones for my parents. I am more used
to the length of burn in on 701s etc. How long is appropriate for this level of
headphone? I want to make sure it is optimized when I give it to him (He's 87)

None (since I don't believe in burn-in)

. Just psychological IMO, but let's not start this aallll over again.

P.S. I have the HD497, of which the EH350 is supposed to be the successor. I've never heard anything change about the sound of it.

thanks, no need to start that war all over again.
they just seemed very boomy out of the box and I am trying to tame them down for the old man. I don't think, at his age, he will be a fan of a lot of bass

So now burn-in will decrease the bass response of the phone in question.

Very interesting. Bookmarking this thread for future reference. Thanks.

200 years. There is no such thing as "burn-in".

just curious then, why do manufacturers, specifically AKG, encourage at least
100 hrs of burn in w/ 701s? they have nothing to gain by recommending a potentially frivolous endeavor.
