Does anyone have experience removeing the headband(just the foam) pad for the Senn 580?

I have tried pulling them from the middle but they are resisting. It seems like they want to slide out from the ends of the band but there are stops preventing them from sliding out either end. Is there a trick to removeing the stops at either end of the headphone pads?
