mmm .... gold trim. Reminds me of the Audeze LCD-4Z

Shame postage a headphone box to Australia is so expensive. Will wait to hear opinions as already have other options to listen to.

+1 ^. Curious how they stack up to the likes of the LCD-3, HE-1000V2, Arya, etc.

I have the HE1000V2 here and had an Arya for several months, but the Peacock is not an competitor in my opinion. The Peacock goes more in the direction of an Auteur, LCD-3 etc. I received the Peacock just today, but what I can say is that the overall package (sound, comfort, design, materials, qualitiy, accessories) is really really good for the price.

Good to know, I'll probably skip these and maybe think about upgrading my Arya to a HE-1000V2. I've heard the latter quite a few times and the V2 is one of the few planars do timbre very well, with TOTL technicalities to match, and the tonality is not wonky. I've heard the SE too but I think it takes a step backwards on tuning compared to the V2.

Impressions of the Peacock that have been posted so far seem to characterize it as more of a warm, laid-back sound but not really up there in terms of resolving capability. Since I'll likely not get to demo them before I buy, seems like a safer bet for me to just forego these.

If you like the Meze Empyrean, try it. When you love a Hifimann, forget the Peacock. It‘s a more to a warm tonality, with phantastic mids and a well defined bass, less bass than an Empyrean, but more defined. Fidelio in Germany tested the Peacock, you can find the test on musicalhead.de. Google can help to translate. i have orderd one, but its sold out in Germany and i have to wait. Heard the Peacock from a Friend of mine and was very impressed. With 220Max, Cayin N3 Pro, Naim NDS with CD555PS DR and Audiovalve Solaris. And not laid-back together with Solaris. I owned the Empy and now i‘am also looking forward to an Meze Dark Mystery. But the Peacock impressed me a lot. More than fair value for the money in my point of view.

Thanks for your impressions. If they compete on technicalities with the Empyrean, for 1500 it seems like quite a fair value. If I ever get a chance to demo this, I will certainly give it long audition :P.
