Hi i'll be in uk when my customs iem are being sent to uk  will there be a charge of vat and duty if i sent it as gift?

Marking a package as a "gift" guarantees one thing and thats attention. It can actually slow a parcel up if the customs people suspect it is not a gift.
 
Even if marked as a gift it can still qualify for custom's fees.
