It's a hell of an endorsement for the meta42 at any rate !

Read a bit like an Eagle Driver vs bkelly thread for a second there, didn't it?

I'm sure the Meta is probably better. But, I need something that is more portable and also to get my feet wet with.

Besides, I'll be the envy of the office with a Penguins Tin amp.

FWIW, my meta42 is in a 5x5x1" case for portability. Not as small as the Tins, but hey.

Those Penguin Tins are nice though !

This will be my first headphone amp and the meta is a bit more for a first buy.

The CMOY or CHA-47 will be a good fit with your Grado's

JMT seems to be a good guy to deal with. He's building a CHA-47 for me.

Should be a good starting point. I may get into the building hobby, but it's been years since I've even picked up a soldering iron and it's an intimidating thought.

After the CHA-47, I think I'll probably pick up something with a cross-feed to see what that's like.

Fantastic ! JMT's great. Glad to hear you're getting the CHA-47.

Yeah, I thought about building. For about three minutes.

Think I saved myself a lot of aggravation...

Good luck & enjoy !
