Smeggy, we did miss you. There were lots of hushed whispers about your K1000s...we all want them now! Hope to see you at a meet in 2008!

I promise to try harder next time. Work, wife, blah blah. You know how it goes

I certainly do! Life has it's way of eating into the things we like to do most. No problem at all, and no expectations either. This is why I want to have more meets: so that if someone misses one, they can count on another coming up in the future. Have a great holiday, smeggy!

Excellent! I'm shopping as well.

yep yep...my rig is WAY to big & heavy...currently ~45lbs, it'll be more when I install the 3rd HDD! And my monitor is ~40lbs 19" CRT!

Once you get yourself into that, you'll need to consider the next step: USB output, DAC...then on to the Empirical Audio hotrod gear (Offramp). Geez, you might end up with the same gear weight and have totally different stuff to bring!

Hello Seattle!

Hey, we had a great meet! I was a little nervous that people might not show up, but y'all surprised me. Hell, we even had four, count 'em, FOUR new members. To the regular members, good to see you. To the new members, welcome!

So post away. I'll get some photos together and let the games begin!

My uncle has that exact Sony player! What is it called?

Hey there milkpowder,

Pretty sexy unit, no?

It is the Sony DVP-S9000ES.
It was Sony's first ES component with DVD and SACD, which was introduced in 2001. The sound is pretty amazing stock, and it is highly modifiable. DVDs look great on it as well. And, of course, it plays SACD!
