What speaker amp(s) are you using with the Yggy? I have a pair of LS50s that keep sounding better as I upgrade what I feed them (Naim Unitiqute now upgraded to Bel Canto C7R) but I "need" an excuse to get an R2R DAC (yes, I could upgrade my headphone setup, maybe) -- F

I'm using Yggy > Mjolnir (preamp) > Parasound A23 > KEF LS50 / SVS SB1000. Prior to the Mjolnir/A23 combo, I used a Rega Brio-R which was fine, but the LS50s benefitted from the A23.

Google might be rewarding.

I haven't heard either but would be fair to say of the seemingly honest opinions that some favor one and some the other. Like much of the stuff at this level, it depends what matters to your ears and brain.

Personally, Yggy is on my 'must buy' list for 2016, mostly because of its reported spatial localization, fine detail retrieval (without treble etch) and tone/timbre. Given the pedigree of its designers, I don't expect to be disappointed.

honest opinions that is

I didn't realize the Master 11 only used four chips.  Maybe the Master 11 is a souped up update of the Reference 10.32. http://www.audio-gd.com/Pro/Headphoneamp/Reference10/RE10EN.htm

In that case I would choose the Master 7 over the Master 11.  There are a few comparisons of the Master 7 and Master 10.32 on this site.

the number of chips is only a part of the story, the M11 is newer design + pre-amp & head amp..from the few comparisons I read the difference is very small (this is also what Kingwa says) and some prefer the M11 over the M7..

From what I understood the bass is a bit thicker on the M7, more natural on the M11 and some say the midds are a bit recessed on the M7 (more u shaped)

I considered the M7 but have the M11 and am very very happy with the sound & pre-amp...I wouldn't want it any different, so no M7 for me

Funny, I thought this was the Schiit Yggdrasil Impressions thread, not the "let's discuss other companies' products with no reference to Yggdrasil thread." Surely there are threads for these other products?

No worries. And, of course it's natural to talk about other DACs if you're comparing how they sound to Yggy.

But the technical and sales discussion of other products without reference to Yggdrasil...call me testy, but I think it would be nice to get back on track and preserve the signal-to-noise ratio in this thread. Surely there are threads for these other products? Maybe a mod can move them there?

It's like hanging out front of a coffee shop giving out tea samples.

I suggest if replying to a comment that is veering off-topic, if not done by PM...,

put it in a spoiler tag.
