I'm anxious to see what people think about the Valhalla 3. I might pull the trigger if it's as good as it's thought to be.
.... and if it's better? 😳 ....

My feeling having had a Valhalla 2 is... hard pass. Yes, it might be the baby son of Volksbanger and might be fun for driving some planars... but so is Vali 3.

I enjoy my OTL amps, but the 6N6P output is my least fav for output rolling. There's only two types, the early decent Fotons and the later drek. And worse, the even the best 6N6P is a dry listen. If Valhalla 3 provided the option to roll other types of output tubes, I'd be keen. (No, 5687, 12BH7, ECC99 or E182CC don't count without circuit tweaks)

And even worse for thrifty rollers, Valhalla 3 burns TWO drivers - gratuitously - for TWICE the cost. There's no sonic benefit (some deficits) with paralleled dual section tubes other than a slight theoretical reduction in noise or if the topology requires it.

Vali 3 has proved to be the best sounding headamp schiit makes. For me it will to continue to be.

The two I got with NOS/near-NOS tested values were $44.50. I thought it was a good deal. What makes it even sweeter is how good these sound...dare I say, my current favorite RCA in my collection.

I feel exactly the same way about the Vali 3 - the sound is just so sweet! ……………………….with the right tubes, that is!

After spending 5 days with Lyr+, I cranked Vali 3 up last night, hooked up MS2x and put on The Modern Lovers album.
Suffice to say, my love for this amp remains undiminished.

Am listening to some Cowboy Junkies at the moment, with two Russian 6J5s on Vali 3. Brilliant!

Well, I just joined the Vali 3 club. Was surprised by the performance for the price this cute little hybrid offers. I bought mine with the Syvania tube in it. Out of the gate it sounded good, but I did find the highs a little harsh. Now that I've put more hours on it, I think they've subsided into a more tolerable territory.

I've been so impressed by this little guy, that I'm cleaning house and dumping all my other gear.

Right now I've just got a Tone 2 Pro DAC > Schiit Vali 3 > Buchard SUB 10 > Bakoon Amp 13-R > Zu Method Bookshelf Speakers.

It even drives my Hifman Susvaras!!!!

The Tone 2 Pro DAC might be replaced by the Schit Modi Multibit 2 when it arrives.

Sounds so good, that I'm willing to shed my other gear namely:
- Sparkos Gemini HPA/Pre
- Denafrips Ares 15 DAC
- Geshelli J3 DAC
- Laiv Harmony µDAC
- Laiv Harmony µDDC
- LHY Linear Power Supply for µDAC

- If it had a remote control it would be perfect.

In my other rig which requires a remote, I'm just keeping my Schiit Lyr+ and another Khadas Tone 2 Pro DAC with a 3e-Audio A5 power amp driving KEF LS50 metas for now and Buchardt E50s on the way.

With the money I recoup, more tubes and maybe some knob rolling? :)

Great enough sound, less boxes and clutter, more money back in my pocket.
