Spoke to soon ..... tube fiddling continues

The very helpful seller on ebay is sending another WE369A from 1957 to replace the badly microphonic 1956 one I bought. He even said to keep the existing one in case it might be useful in a less sensitive application.

Hopefully the replacement proves to be quieter and I can actually use it.

In a couple of weeks I get another chance to see what the WE talk is all about

We're talking subtleties, don't expect any earth shattering life changing revelations. :deadhorse::beerchug:

Understood.

I did hear some nice stuff with the WE that I have, subtle yes but pleasing nonetheless, if not perfect for everything.

However, it was hard to look past the pinging and ringing with IEM and even some headphones so that probably didn't play well into my perception of it overall.

With some luck the replacement will be quiet and I can give the apparent WE magic a fair chance.

Question for Vali owners, would you buy a Midgard sized Vali with 2 tubes?
I'm happy with the vali, so probably not. Plus finding matching tubes would be a pain.

I think I found a good deal on them.

HERE
Hah, that’s the same deal I got, same seller, same price! About $7 bucks a tube including shipping. Maybe someone can beat that?
