Looking for recommendations for a Schiit Vali 2++ tube upgrade? Based on a recommendation I purchased a 6922 type tube and that type does not seem to be compatible with Vali 2 ++...

For 5670's tho I love the Western Electric 396A JW2C51, however, they arent cheap.

Santa brought me a JAN 5670W tube that was recommended by one of the members here. He also brought me a new DAC and a set of headphones. So, until things settle down and I get accustomed to the sound of my system rolling that new tube is going to have to wait. But I am looking forward to doing it.

honestly I had to do a lot of hunting on ebay, to find some. I have like 4 of them now in my collection for use cause I love the sounds so much.

I put the JAN 5670W tube in and it opened up the sound, so I consider it an improvement over the stock tube. I got it off of ebay for around $15 including shipping so that was an inexpensive upgrade.

I quit looking when I started using a RCA Command 5670. I tried the GE JAN 5670 and GE 5 Star 5670.

I'll tell you what you don't want… Tesla 6cc42.
I was listening to some Orbital last night with my PFE 012. Those tiny little IEMs sounded darn near as big and full as my A2C. Totally crapped on my theory that you need big plates for big sound.
And if that wasn't bad enough, they don't hum nearly as much as my other 5670 type tubes either.

Fav combo in the Vali 2+ for me has been a cheap, but wonderful pair of twin 7A4s. But you need an adapter - which costs more than the tubes. But still...

Does anyone know if 6CG7 tubes work in the Vali2++ with a 6922/ECC88 adapter? The 6CG7 tubes work fine in the freya N and were have said to worked in the Vali 2+. I’m just not sure if they would still work with the 2++ though. I think they would, but want to make sure. I’ve run 6DJ8 and 6922 tubes with the adapter in the Vali 2++ with no issues.
