Valhalla 3 delivered and setup. No impressions yet, but hoping to compare between V3 and MJ3.

You must have the Valhalla 3.14159265 ..... it's OTL / OCL / OCD .....Finally found my Tubemonger 12A*7 to E88CC (6922, etc.) adapters. 1st up is the Brimar CV-455s ( Footscray)!
And TM spacers on the rear 6N6Ps keep it looking good with rear tubes a bit higher than the front. It's best to sound good while looking good!![]()

It’s going to be a challenge since they’re inherently different, different gear, connections, etc.Very interested in your work....
So far, I feel like the V3 has more space around each instrument while the MJ3 feels a little more authoritative. These are in audiophile measurements so not a drastic difference

I’ll be sure to post more in the coming days. Going to testing with my Atrium Open and Gungnir 2 connected to MJ3 and V3.

Does the new Valhalla 3 have any type of warm tube sound compared to the second version?
I've found that with the stock tubes I'm getting a much more tubey sound than I did with the V2. Not even close. I'm guessing there are tubes out there we can roll in which could provide even more of that tubey goodness. I'm sure we'll start reading about tube options pretty soon. YMMVDoes the new Valhalla 3 have any type of warm tube sound compared to the second version?

I'm really waiting to see if anyone can chime in with a comparison to the LYR3. I'm guessing the LYR3 being a hybrid tube amp can deliver more power. I have the OG LYR3 for the record

From my understanding it does deliver more power. But not certain it delivers the warm sound signature.
How much power does the Atrium open need? The 250mw of the V3 gets it to around 118.5 db which should be plenty loud, I’m guessing that is rms so it should have enough power to fully drive the AO’s?

It's plenty for all the ZMF dynamics in low gain. How much power does the Atrium open need? The 250mw of the V3 gets it to around 118.5 db which should be plenty loud, I’m guessing that is rms so it should have enough power to fully drive the AO’s?
It has no problems driving my Atrium Open. Listening to that combo is very satisfying. How much power does the Atrium open need? The 250mw of the V3 gets it to around 118.5 db which should be plenty loud, I’m guessing that is rms so it should have enough power to fully drive the AO’s?
Any thoughts on using the Valhalla 3 as a preamp into a Ragnarok 2 to output to my main system speakers (in addition to using the Valhalla as a HPA)?

There is a good synergy between the AO and V3. Mjolnir 3 and AO sounds very good as well with a different presentation. However, I feel like the V3 gives the AO a notch or two up in euphonic sound over the MJ3. (Very early initial impressions)It has no problems driving my Atrium Open. Listening to that combo is very satisfying.
