Thanks. I think Im pretty locked in on trying for Yggy Gs2 but if I can't get one before they are gone then I'll be quite interested in Gungnir2.

I was thinking about what I’d like to see in a hypothetical Mjolnir 4. It would be awesome to have another switch added for output impedance. My ZMF dynamics would surely love to have the option of a higher output impedance. That and maybe a few more watts of power to fully handle the Tungstens and Susvaras of the headphone world.

Then again, the MJ3 sounds great with both of my ZMFs as is. It never hurts to dream though.

You mentioned the MJ3 not being great with the he1000 stealth and i think that might be treble over kill, the stealth and organic are tuned pretty closely with the organic offering more low end and the stealth offering more highs, that may be the problem in your case, i think the MJ is an outstanding value, I’ve demoed the 3x gt for a month and while they’re on the same level performance wise, the tuning of the MJ makes the MJ the clear winner for me.
Pretty much.

For sure. I think with more power you’ll get more heat so a bigger chassis like the ragnarok with bigger heatsinks would definitely help. This would be awesome.

Bwahahahahahaha. Those sausage fingers.

I love that guy.
Impossible not to love him.

I might disagree with some of his recommendations and comments, but every time he releases a new video, I immediately watch it, at least I'm going to have a good laugh.

I daily Tungsten DS, and use Susvara for dedicated listening both on Mj3. Truly no issues with volume on either headphone. I can get them both to clip and distort in high gain, but I can feel muscles in my head stressing from how loud it is. So unless you have hearing damage, or heavy EQ, I don't think power is as big of an issue as it's being made out to be. Just from my experience using both every day.
Thanks dude.

If you don't mind me asking, how loud do you listen to your music and what kind of music you listen too?, because I'm really hoping that my S17 is just enough for the Tungsten and I don't have to buy a freaking nuclear power plant to drive them properly.

Unacceptable. I know it's a relatively cheap amplifier but still, it's unacceptable.
$1,200 usd it's not cheap by any stretch of the imagination my friend.

I know in this hobby, specially in mount olympus tier, there are amps and dacs that run well into the 6 figures that us mere mortals(i.e. us the poors right @Slackaveli ) can only ever dream of, but anything that's approaching or is over $1k usd I personally would never call it "affordable", it might be price just right or it's a good value at it's price, but there's nothing affordable when we're talking about this many greenbacks.

Ayyy, another R26 > Mjolnir 3 user! I am really loving this combo altho I don't have anything similar to compare it to.

This photo is from last week when I was borrowing the ZMF Caldera (right) and Atrium Closed (left) as part of a loaner tour. The Atticus in the middle are mine.

The combo of Mjolnir 3 with the Caldera was truly stunning. It also does magical things to the HD800 as well.
Heck yeah! 🙌🫸🫷

I have never heard any ZMF headphones. I have always wanted to know how they sound like in person.

I mainly listened with dynamic headphones (OG Utopia, Stellia, 109Pro) today. I feel like the MJ3 works exceptionally well with dynamic driver headphones. I shall do more listening to see if it is true.

The sound of the MJ3 alone makes the slight troubles worth it for me. 5 year warranty ain't too shabby. It's obvious that the amp is not for you, it makes noises, there are pops when you flip switches, but those aren't real problems (except when the channels physically don't bump, like in my case).

For what it's worth, I've had problems with gear from all different companies, with varying difficulties getting them repaired. Schiit has been by far the easiest to arrange for those repairs, so take that for what it is.
Schiit has excellent customer support, already had to use it with a magni heresy, no complains there.

My space heater is here!

Initial impression: Very spacious sounding in both width and depth. Seems uncommon for amp in this price range or lower. I personally like the push-pull mode better which gives the music a little bit more 'bite' and energy. I keep feedback mode off since I don't hear many meaningful differences.

Equipments used: Gustard R26 -> MJ3 -> LCD5 & HE1000se

About the failures, it looks as if the first lot used a bad batch of switches, or maybe some other component that failed after initial testing. I wouldn't be surprised if that were one of the reasons for more recent delays, as they would have stopped sending them out, and re-checked or fixed non-shipped units, as well as had to source a new, working batch of whatever faulty component caused the issue.

Just as a comparison, in the 17 years I've been here, I've seen countless new products have some flaw that only showed up after the first batch was shipped. In a couple of months, everyone will end up forgetting about it. It's not like SoMe Severely Lame companies that use cheap components (eg: switching PSUs) that fail outside warranty after a couple of years.

I may have misunderstood, but the negative impression of the Tungsten from the MJ3 was from the SE (6.3mm) output, not balanced.
Why would they run Tungsten single ended tho? those cans need all the juice they can get and the standard cable it's a 4-pin xlr from VW, kind of weird that somebody would handicap their chances of driving to the fullest extend possible the notoriously hard to drive HP like tungsten, specially the single ended version.
