Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

My high speed internet over fiber is from a telephone company (no extra charge to keep phone line) so I changed over to FireSticks years ago. I am a sports fan and movie buff who can still spend plenty of time with music through multiple systems.🤪

We probably have the same provider. We ditched the landline early this year. The only calls we got were scams, Medicare offers, and "buy your house as-is" junk. Nice not to have so much of that. We don't use that provider for our wireless plan.

We looked at plans for the Firestick and settled on a Hulu/Disney +/Max package. Neither of us watch sports, so that bundle worked best for us.

I truly wish The Hobbit hadn't taken so long to come to the screen. The project took so long to complete, Guillermo del Toro had to drop out as the director. I would have loved to have seen his take on the book...! I'm sure it would have had a tone much more in keeping with the book. Jackson's Hobbit felt like LOTR's Lite, instead of a fairy tale...! 😝
Oh, instead of the next proposed Rings movie, The Search For Gollum, why not a movie about Radagast The Brown. I loved Sylvester McCoy in the part. More history, and a story unique to him, would be fantastic...! 😃

Yup. The character does nothing to advance the story and I'm glad Jackson omitted him. He's the literary equivalent of fingernails on a chalkboard (for me). Or, more accurately, he's a kazoo player doing a random solo in a symphony.
I actually blocked him from my mind until my son started reading the LOTR and started complaining about Tom Bombadil. I laughed and told him to slog through that part, it gets better.

My provider is just a small local phone company, I am out in the country a bit. I run Hulu plus several add ons.

So, with funds secured for Stjarna; it is natural for me to learn as much as possible in advance! LOL

I know it’s form factor/size, that it’ll have two inputs, and that it’ll have at least the 60dB gain I need with my Hana (I’m a low output MC kinda guy).

What loading options will it have? Same as Skoll, or will it have more options, e.g. one or two more loads above 250Ohms but below 47K? (I.e. more granularity)? Also, for pF’s, same as Skoll, or more/different? I think I recall a discussion around a “mono” capability, which I would LOVE as it is super useful for adjusting azimuth… but not a show stopper

Any other features that I’m missing / failing to consider? Anyone know this stuff and/or our Schiit team want/able to weigh in?

I literally want this thing yesterday!

[edit: 60 not 600!]

Oh wow, I hadn’t thought about extra loading options and a mono feature for azimuth adjustment? That would be super useful. Now I’m even more curious about what the final specs will look like!

Maybe Jason will post the user's manual once he's done proofing it.
