..... rolling volume knobs (I had to insert 'volume') is akin to rolling tubes: adjusting the feel of the amp vs the sound of the amp ..... yes, that's what it is .....
I have a CA Minx X300(?). I would pass on that, it's not powerful enough nor does it go deep enough. I guess nearfield it would be OK. (if you still want one I'll sell you mine for a good price).
I don't think the Starkes have line outs.
OTOH, my old SVS SB1000 has high level inputs and that might work for you; I'm using it kind of biwired. That thing is a beast but not very refined.
The Outlaw M8 also has high level in/outs and is also a beast. Not tried it for music but I expect it's also not very refined.
I just have to post this short film from the excellent BMW series called 'The Hire' starring Clive Owen. Watch until the end for a very special cameo of a thread favorite character.
Great played on speakers, kinda trippy on headphones. Fully instrumental except for spoken clips that might have been ripped from old 50's era sci-fi movies. This is my most frequent play for the last two months.
Oh that's horrifying. There are probably more than a few alternate universes where there is no Schiit Audio because I tripped and went head-first into our Frankensaw in the speaker days (think 5HP motor, 8' table, no guards, blade usually all the way up). I'm a giant baby now, and use a Dewalt contractor saw with all the guards on. As soon as the Boerne house is done, I'll get a SawStop and call it a day. Please be careful!
I bought a SawStop for my 60th birthday, to replace a 30+ year old Craftsman. The motor of the SawStop outweighed the entire Craftsman saw. I was tripping more in my old age and the thought of being a klutz around the Craftsman scared me. I used push sticks religiously with the Craftsman all those years. Twice I nicked a push stick. I’m a huge fan of the SawStop!
