What’s your chain?
Hana to VPI, VPI to Schiit Skoll via balanced, Skoll to McIntosh C50 via balanced, McIntosh C50 to McIntosh MC152 via balanced, McIntosh C152 to Sonus faber Sonetto VIII. It sounds amazing.

@bcowen Found it if you want the link. I've been tempted myself. I will say that there was something about the hana el that didn't quite do it for me in the long run. Maybe a tad clinical to my ears.

Yes, would love to have the link. Thanks for chasing it down!

Will do - the second I’m on the road again. But right now, I’m still enjoying my dry-as-heck scrambled eggs and slightly charred toast with some of that sugar paste in tiny plastic cups that they carried past a single strawberry once, thank you very much. 😁

It is an adventure, enjoy the trip and look around, have a short break every two hours and take a coffee. If condition allows, let the get out from the cage and stretch a bit.

Another fan of Sonus Faber, I just received a Skoll myself. I am still working toward a new turntable setup but a PrimaLuna tube amp is in place. Your setup is impressive!

That's a terrible dilemma. But I can help!

Get the Hana AND send the Koetsu off to be rebuilt. Then have the rebuilt Koetsu sent to me for long short medium term evaluation. If the rebuilt Koetsu fails to meet the exquisite original quality, I can can break the news to you gently over a period of months or years. Save you that sudden aching disappointment which can be awfully disappointing. Also will save me from sending my old toddler-modded Kotesu off to be rebuilt. We both win!

On the 1 in a million chance your our rebuilt Koetsu does indeed produce that rich transcendent musical experience that we thought we'd never experience again, I can inform you gently over a period of months or years. Again, we both win! 🤣
That's most generous of you! But as I've unsuccessfully tried to teach my wife for many years, most things that look too good to be true usually are. What's the catch? 🤣

Actually, as long as he's taking it's more like a career. 🤣

Page 10100 and 10101.. solidly into binary here! So we’re really only at pages 24 and 25? 😝😜🤪

You're looking at this very 2 dimensionally. 🤣

I just fixed scrambled eggs for my wife using Gordon Ramsay’s method. Lots of butter and stirring them on and off of the heat. They are amazing. Freshly roasted and ground coffee, some toast cooked in a Tovala oven, fresh strawberries and blueberries. Traveling can be rough.
a quarter or so teaspoon of baking powder whisked in will make them very light and fluffy.

Being Mother’s Day I am doing the cooking, I actually did some of that last night as I started to run low on hibachis. Bonding around an outdoor fire is something people have always enjoyed and last night was perfect weather.🤪

I get a couple weeks like this in the spring and a few weeks in the fall. Summer is too hot and winter too cold. Low of 50 F is generally my cut off point.

The fire pit looks tiny in the photo but the opening is a six foot diameter. Room for 8-10 in a circle but with perfect weather we can back up to accommodate 15-18. Not one mosquito.
