Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

There's no such thing as too many backups, of course. Seriously though having 3 or 4 backups of an inexpensive tube is never a bad thing especially if it's a NOS tube. They will never get cheaper, only more expensive, so grabbing a decent supply now doesn't seem to be terribly illogical.
That's what I figured, thanks. I think when the supply of WE 396A finally runs out, people will turn more to the GE 5670W (and other tubes), and the prices will go up up up.

Interesting and one of the first things I mentioned with the WE 396A was the sound stage. 😉 Oh and considering the Birdseye maple sides I made for your phono preamp? You are ahead of Cowen in number of builds.😁
Sweet! Does that mean you're back on track with the tube rack? 🤣 🤣

Glad you like it, I was afraid you would look down on me like Cowen serving boxed wine in red plastic cups.🤪
You've obviously already been drinking because you know I would never serve in a red cup. 🤣

My fire pit is becoming a bed of hot coals. Music is all set, I have chosen the wine so it is time to kick back for a bit.

Tonight’s menu includes salt potatoes ( an Eastern thing I learned from a lady in Buffalo NY.)
A garden salad with homemade dressing.
And beef filet strips that have been marinating.

Basically I will add wood coals to small hibachis as well as applewood chips that have been soaking in beer.

Each person can then cook their own beef. Maybe 10-15 seconds per side (the beef then melts in the mouth).😁 The smoked flavor and seasoned marinade are magical and work well with the other dishes. My form of meat and potatoes.
Baklava for dessert and I have been known to make hot buttered rum on cool nights.
I live right outside Baltimore. You are welcome to stop by for an appetizer. Or I could give you free shipping along with the shrimp. I do not guarantee freshness when shipped.

Buy me a Kraken and we will talk. Omg we are making great use of dual ice makers on our new fridge. Back to entertaining. Oh and when did Oklahoma change from red to pansy blue? I must have missed it.🤪🤪

It's very sad that Koetsu has shut down. Do you have someone in mind for that particular job?
Yes, very sad. I just learned that the other day as I was looking for contact info. So it's either Soundsmith or.....a new cartridge....or be happy with the Benz MC-Scheu which even after all these years still gets the music right (just that the Koetsu got it righter  ). I've never dealt with Soundsmith, but they have an excellent reputation so I'll probably strike up a conversation with them and see where things go.

That will teach you to stick to name brand products like GE, Ford, Orville Redenbacher, maybe Schwin. I did GE and my group named the rest. Did that help?🤪 Those are the PG rated responses.

What Bill was really thinking as he posted.
