Dewars and soda, in a tall glass, packed with ice, and a lemon twist is a damn near perfect sweltering hot day drink. That is a hill I will die on.I'm very much the same with cigars. I prefer bourbon to scotch, but I can enjoy a good scotch just the same. The key word there is "good." Before following this thread and learning from some of the masters here, I used to think Dewars was "good" scotch. Yeah, um....not.
Shelf numbers are extremely important and I may just have some amazing birdseye maple set aside for such a build. You know my work, and you might well own more of them than some guy in Oklahoma of all places.
It's the house recipe at the distillery I work at. I think it's 2 parts whiskey (rye in this case), 1 part amaro, and 1 part sweet vermouth, garnished with a twist of orange peel.
