Attn: Jazz vinyl collectors. Blue Note is having a " More you buy, more you save sale ". ( I've learned that if I wait, eventually what I want comes up for sale. )

Thanks for jumping in Sam, I have been busy with other things and was not able to give this more thought. :beerchug:
Glad to help, Tom. As you know, cathode followers can become low frequency oscillators when certain capacitors in the circuit go bad. One step at a time.

You didn't post that, but I know you thought it. :D

** I too view your comment as high praise. So much so, that I'll be making a trip to Total Wine this weekend to buy a bottle.
I buy the BIB regularly and my son and his neighbor like the bottle I dropped off in Virginia.🤪 They know more about bourbons than I ever will. I keep five types in my bar.

I used this site and bought a music album from them. Beforehand, I asked the support team if they guaranteed that a particular song on this album was not upconverted from MP3. Having received assurances that he was available 24/48, I checked this statement. Here is a screenshot of the spectral analysis. Do you think this is Hi-Res?
That looks almost brickwalled at 16.5 kHz with some things getting through up to 17 kHz but then it’s empty. I’m no expert on Hi-Rez, but that is not what I would expect.

For a 48 kHz sample rate I would expect things there at 20 kHz and beyond, even if only as noise, but definitely something.

.... that was B.C. (before cowen); this is A.D. (after depletion) ... 🤷🏻‍♂️😳😒

I'm yet to be convinced it's worth over-spending on 6n6p for Folkvangr. I think Bill may be the only one who has tried nicer options there, most of the rest of us are just rolling the 6922 pair up front...

.... I swear that I heard the same about Melz 1578s etc from XXXXXXX79 .... 🤔🫰🤣
It is rare, but they do pop up. I negotiated a pretty decent price this week for a legit 1959 Melz 1578 but they're getting tough to locate.

Ok, maybe it is spending almost three weeks living with the grandkids or the travel or age. What am I missing? 6N6P is output for Valhalla 2 and now what else?
Folkvangr, and presumably Valhalla 3 upcoming (and maybe Stjarna, I don't believe Jason has given tube types for that product yet)

Someone here (can't remember who) recommended the Joe Sample cd, Invitation.
I just wanted to say thank you.
It is beyond most excellent!
Could be Ripper, he is a huge fan of Joe Sample.

1959 is a very good year for Melz so you did well. Even the original price was not outrageous, I folks selling lesser versions for similar money.😉

Based on the 16.5kHz ceiling (not counting the spurious harmonics), 100% that track was at some point converted to a lossy format, and then reconverted back to PCM. :confounded:

Today a representative of highresaudio.com answered me and assured me that they are not deceiving anyone and, in their opinion, their version of this song complies with the Hi-Res 24/48 standard. And they also told me that this is a song in the style of electronic pop music, that’s why there are such spectrums.
I have a longer version 16/44,1of this song. You can compare spectral analysis with the so-called Hi-Res:

IIRC, a fair majority of HiRes files are upsampled redbook. There is a site or two that tell you if the music was from masters at resolutions greater than 16/44. Upsampling lossy mp3 to HiRes is fraudulent. I doubt any reputable download site would go that far.
