I’m sorry to hear that. I’ll be firing up the LRSs tomorrow and listening to the MN Orchestra for Ji
Thank you for sharing both the news and the absolute sound article. Ironically I am sitting here listening to my .7 Maggie’s driven by an ARC DS-450. RIP Jim!I know a lot of us pair our Schiit with Magnepan speakers. Unfortunately Jim Winey, founder of Magnepan, has passed away. https://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/jim-winey-1934-2024/

Speaking of bourbons, am enjoying a Frey Ranch Bourbon from NV, which may well be the first ‘farm-to-table’ spirit (interesting concept). But that interesting concept has created a lovely dram. And yes, there’s an open bottle of Jameson Black Barrel Ikm enjoying as well.Granted, it's not a bourbon. All bourbons technically, must be distilled in Kentucky.
I like some Tennessee whiskies, including various flavors of George Dickel, and Jack Daniel's. They're good, and also not bourbons.
With rare exception, and you're one, most bourbon drinkers I've encountered also enjoy Jameson's.
No, not at the same time, you lot!
Hooking up Mjolnir 2 to give it a go for a few weeks. Looking forward to this!

This is why many speaker systems [like my Infinity 9Kappa's have EMIT ribbon tweeters on the rearside. Arnie Nudell was a brilliant visionary, ahead of his times.Super tweeters can be useful for added ambiance but only if they face backwards. Facing them in the same direction as your main speakers could potentially cancel out some higher frequencies. Suffice to say they’re complicated.
If you aren't satisfied with your speaker’s high frequency presentation then you may want to consider different speakers.

Just depends on the tax stamp (or lack thereof).I thought it was Moonshine if it was made in NC?

NOPE. This is a common enough myth, but a myth is all it remains. Bourbon as defined by U.S. legislation is a uniquely American spirit and not a Kentucky one. Our Oregon Spirit Bourbon is absolutely as much a Bourbon by every definition of the law as anything from Kentucky.Granted, it's not a bourbon. All bourbons technically, must be distilled in Kentucky.

I'm down with that! Watch the stodgy audiophiles squirm in discomfort.Could have just called it STD for short instead of plankton!
i had an uncle that claimed "You havent lived until you have -
* gotten arrested
* contracted an std
* been in a fight"
and probably several other questionable things.. im good.

Back in my salesman days, I would sell Kappa 9's with Adcom GFA-565 mono blocks.This is why many speaker systems [like my Infinity 9Kappa's have EMIT ribbon tweeters on the rearside. Arnie Nudell was a brilliant visionary, ahead of his times.

Thank you. They do have a dipole EMT, but at that price I would just invest in new speakers.This is why many speaker systems [like my Infinity 9Kappa's have EMIT ribbon tweeters on the rearside. Arnie Nudell was a brilliant visionary, ahead of his times.
I was just kicking the idea around. Not sure it would really work as I have questions about point source alignment and the fact that the Lores put the woofer/Mid driver above the tweeter creates some concerns for me as well. It does seem it would create far more problems than it would solve.
BTW, @bcowen -- the Lore reference have a soft dome ring radiator fabric tweeter, unlike you OG Lore with an aluminum dome SEAS tweeter. I'm sure yours have a bit more zip and air on the top-end.

Yikes. Be safe!Tomorrow I will be riding my fat bike in tne coldest temps I’ve done so far. It will be 7 F or -14 C in tne morning . I’ve not ridden below 10 F so far, but I’ve purchased ski goggles since then, so I hope to not have frozen eyes.

Always! My wife is finished and published, our daughter is ABD. You’ll get there! More coffee!The dataset I’m using is via arguably the biggest survey in my subfield of my discipline, so I’m good on IRB for my current project. I want to put my own survey into the field for my dissertation which I’d absolutely need to carefully craft and get IRB approval. Thanks for the good vibes!
8 kHz to 40kHz would be wasted on me. My old ears are only good to about 5kHz.I have an audio question ...
Anyone here have any experience with Aperion add-on super tweeters? They seem a bit intriguing and the planar ribbon version (their words, not mine) seem reasonably priced.
