Can confirm, 1957 Melz with the Tung Sol 5998 is quite nice in an Incubus...
Maybe I do know a little something about tubes.🤪

What was I thinking to give those away??🤪 I need to stop being kind to people, now I am busy building things like this in my spare time and one woman took six items lol. Finnegan and I are barely keeping up.IMG_7152.jpegIMG_7142.jpegIMG_7147.jpegIMG_7133.jpegIMG_7109.jpeg

Gorgeous handiwork! Colour me impressed!

A '53 with a WE421A ain't nothing to sneeze at, either. ;)

Cut outs predated the CD. A cut marked the album as overstock, sold at a discount.
Sometimes imperfections in packaging such as a scratch on the jacket would result in a reject for normal sales so cut the corner and sell through other methods such as mail-order. I used BMG/Columbia House in another century.

I am tempted to send you a serious Melz from the 50's, I only run those in the amps I designed and I do believe I noticed Mr. Cowen with a similar combo of 6sn7 and Tung Sol 5998. What do we know though?
Yup, you turned me on to that combo. Still my favorite pairing in the Incubus. A worthy second fiddle is a graphite plate Chatham 6080 paired with Hytron 7A4's, your nicknamed "dirty girls" or something like that. 🤣

Well I gave up on helping audiophiles after I never got a bottle of Old Belvedere from @bcowen.🤪🤪
It's not my fault. Every store I've checked here says they don't carry Belvedere. Must be an Indiana thing. 🤣 🤣

Uh I have to teach you about tubes again, will this never end? They were naughty girls, Sylvania single triode tubes with three hole plates geesh. Oh and stop showing old photos, I upgraded your Incubus to the second prettiest one I ever built as I recall. Speaking of which I have some tiger maple that puts all other to shame, best I have ever purchased.

Hell's ducks man, call Scotland, it is made somewhere there.:beerchug: I have changed over to fine bourbons for a while, one lady traded me six bottles of really fine product for a charcuterie board or some such.

Don't deal with females, send all 1950's vintage 1578 tubes to me.
