I’ve noticed there are at least two others around here that admitted to having two Vali 2+, I’m a third. I spent a year picking up 6sn7’s before buying the Freya OG but have the most fun with them in the Vali.

A bit late to this chapter, but man Jason I'm consistently impressed by your unwillingness to let things be. I bought a Magni 2U back in 2017 and at the time I thought it was made of gold, now still rocking my beloved Mjolner Gungnir MB stack and yet I'm scared to listen to your new stuff for fear it invalidates what I have XD
They say competition is great for the market and consumers. I agree, but Schiit is the only company I can think of competing with *itself*- keep it up guys^^
Listening to my Magni Unity with internal DAC card right now.
Nicely detailed, decent stage, very impressive low end, well-moderated mids, and only a hint of that crystallinity that usually bugs me a little bit with most of Schiits small solid-state headphone amps.
Could this be the first Magni (that isn't a Piety anyway) I actually enjoy? Definitely beats my Jotunheim 2!
And have the good folks at Schiit finally figured out how to make those ESS chips sound actually pretty darn decent?
I think they just might have!
Will make for a very nice little travel companion, this Magni Unity and its internal DAC card.
I have a strange affinity for ugly or odd airplanes but I draw the line at the B18T. It is possible to replace radials with turbines and not kill the looks.
Volpar didn't get that particular memo.
Basler, on the other hand, got the memo, read it and understood the assignment.
If I were to win a good sized lottery I'd love to have a Courier or and a Porter.
The Porter is an absolute beast, and amazing at low speeds (which is pretty much all you’ve got). And yeah, Volpar, she do be ugly, especially with tricycle gear (for balance, IIRC). Obviously a weird/misspent youth I had.
I'd kill for a first gen Vali with the tiny inner tubes and the ringing of death. Why? Because that's one of the sweetest sounding amps I've ever heard. It actually changed the sound like one would want from a tube.

I have a bunch of coaster PCBs and enough parts and tubes to build at least five of them. If I just had the time…
But there's other Schiit that takes precedence right now.

The Modius E with its ESS 9028 dac chip is superlative here....some Schiit magic going on...Every amp I have used it with is clearer, brighter in a good way and removes some of the proverbial veil here....My MB2 which I love is a tad softer all around....think the Modius has taken the lead here for me.....Ooofff!

I have none of the tools, none of the knowledge or skill, but a healthy modicum of fascination in those little coaster amps. Anybody in this group build one?
