Ron Carter is a legend, he is still alive and still performing in his 80's.
I know. He's a giant. I think he doesn't get as much credit as the flashy bass players. But so many of the "great" jazz albums have his quiet strength as it's foundation. Nothing beats a solid foundation. Carter, Tony Williams and Herbie Hancock found something special which hadn't been equalled since. Call it synergy or groove. I don't know. But it's awesome.

Today's listening.

Shout out to @Orange5o. The Sutton album is incredible. This made my day. Fingerpicking glory. Musical, excellent recording quality and it gets down and dirty. I'll report back when I hear more of your suggestions. Very helpful.

John Williams - I mean my heart melts. It's my childhood. He captures the hopes and dreams of a child who grew up on Star Wars, Superman, Close Encounters, Indiana Jones, E.T. What's your favourite JW soundtrack?!? I listened today and my heart is racing and thrilled like a little child. Damn, he is one of the greatest composers ever...

Dang, having only 2-4 hours of 'not-work' time each day is rather horrible work|life balance. I personally couldn't do that. Cool for people who can, I suppose... it just ain't for me.

I work 4 10s, having Sat, Sun, and Mon off - work from 6am to 5pm or so, then I've got until 11:30pm to just do my own thang. I don't need lots of sleep... 5-6 hours is plenty.
It varies depending on work load. I set my own hours and as long as all my work is done I can come and go as I please. We have one guy who does OT during the week and leaves by 10am every Friday.

My new attitude about work now that I'm retired...

5:50am is a totally normal time to be at work, right?
Asking for a friend…
Perfectly normal. I am typically a bit later, as I get up at 5:00. It's amazing how much you can do when nobody else is there yet, no phone calls...

Beans, Bluegrass, Battlestar Galactica.
Alliteration.🤪
It is commonly used in business to help us remember a brand. Krispy Kreme, PayPal, TikTok, Coca-Cola, etc.
