I would definitely scoop up a mjolnir 3, vali 3 combo tomorrowIIRC Jason mentioned that Schiit way over-purchased the transformers used in the Valhalla 2, so I'd think they'd want to burn through those prior to a Valhalla 3 being announced.
Vali 3 on the other hand ...![]()

Is that one of your refurbed amps? I love the look of those old ones
I will build cables soon but I have one more item to make for the Schiit meet in NC. The headphone stand is nearly done other than a proper coat of wax on top of linseed oil. I have the headphones fully extended to make sure the height will work.

Looks like you got the glass squeaky clean on that Sansui, did the back side need cleaning as well as the front?

Yep, a Sansui 9090DB receiver from the mid seventies. I got it from a gentleman on this thread and treated it with the reverence it deserved. Back then there was a goal to exceed 100 watts RMS a channel and this one does closer to 160 watts. I have rebuilt a few others for friends but the ones I want to keep are in that 100 watt range. Is that one of your refurbed amps? I love the look of those old ones
Look to the left of Kevin in his video and you will see the same receiver on the top of the rack.

Only the front. I replaced one knob, an antenna holder, and did some work on the cabinet but otherwise cosmetically it was in great condition. I have a quart container holding the parts I replaced on the inside.Looks like you got the glass squeaky clean on that Sansui, did the back side need cleaning as well as the front?

I am guessing that the Other Thing has to be a lower priced, higher volume product considering the state of economy in most countries. After the mad rush of spending gratuitously that marked the first couple of years of the pandemic, the harsh reality is kicking in for most of us. While I would love to get a Mjolnir 3, I’d settle for a $299 pure class A Asgard OG.Hey all,
A couple of dates to mark:
1. Thursday, August 17. Unless something really weird happens, you'll be seeing Mjolnir 3 and the Other Thing at that time. But something weird could happen. So there you go. Fingers crossed and all that.
2. Saturday September 9th. That's the Research Triangle, NC Fall Schiit Meetup. I'll be there in person if you want to see if I'll say something about upcoming Schiit gear (currently 5 or more launches planned by the end of the year, in addition to MJ3 and The Other Thing, none of which I talked about). Or if you want to ask me questions. Or whatever. Deets: September 9th, 11:00am to 3:30PM, 79°West Innovation Hub, 120 Mosaic Blvd #120, Pittsboro, NC 27312. That's it for now!
All the best,
Jason

Here is my eternally optimistic speculative list of the five post-August releases from Schiit:
1) A balanced headphone amp, based on the Programmable OPS (i.e. the Piety) - oh is that a flying pig?
2) A Bifrost with Singularity D/S modules - a more likely arrival.
3) A valve phono stage - customer persuasion at its finest..
4) The Gadget - for those who like knobs and tweakery.
5) An external VU meter box - not my thing, but probably popular with a vocal section of the community.
And as a bonus….
6) Schiit posters - not us on the forums, but those things that, erm, stick to the wall

#2 for me please. I keep thinking of a bifrost with a toggle switch between singularity and megacomboburitto filter. One and done. Here is my eternally optimistic speculative list of the five post-July releases from Schiit:

#5 made me stupid-laugh for longer than I should've! I'm still LOLing! My guesses for this year...
1- 5 channel amp to pair with Syn
2- Tube phono preamp
3- DDC / Unison USB switcher
4- D/S multibit DAC
5- Schiit flushable Aloe Vera moist towelettes
** I would love to see a 2x channel sound processor akin to Carver's Sonic Holography.

The quality of a mix is more important than the bit rates in terms of sound quality. At least in my experience.
Yep. The mastering is WAY, WAY, WAY more important than bitrate.
At 44.1khz, you're already getting all there is to be had in terms of sampling.
