Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

It looks as though I'll have to rule out the REKKR™ for my currently down GMC®/General Motors M11006 (popularly known as the Safari™ SLE) — 6 VAC 60 Hz power input, rather than 11-16 VDC. It's compact enough to install five for active crossovers (2-ways in the cab doors, 3-ways split between the D-pillars and Dutch doors). Ideal set-up: Woofers from a KENWOOD® eXcelon® Reference™ XR-1703HR low in the cab doors and Dutch doors; FOUNTEK® FR-FR59EXE midrange-tweeters high in the cab doors; Infinity®/Harman® Kappa™ 463XF sans included crossover modules in/for the D-pillars.

I've been planning a 12v Rekkr set up for awhile now. If you're serious about it one of these should handle 5 Rekkrs no sweat.

All this talk about silver-grain and older Schiit products, persuaded me to re-install the LYR 2 that I purchased back in 2016 (IIRC), the same year that I joined Headfi ... I haven't listened to it since 2017, when it was replaced by the MJOLNIR 2.

Bluesound Node 2i > Chord Qutest > Schiit LYR 2 > DCA Aeon Flow Open (OG) with new Noire fenestrated pads.

Still a superb amplifier at its price point and beyond.

I may have to polish my Jot's knob my own damn self. :L3000: :joy::joy::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Do it! My secondhand MJ2 had a gnarly scratch on the volume knob, so I ordered a replacement from Schiit. In the interim, I took a shot at polishing the old knob and got it pretty close to a mirror finish. Ended up preferring it over the OG finish and never installed the replacement.

Lots of final shaping and sanding but I held the boards with hot glue as I check out all the angles, tapers, and bevels. The height and stability is quite good. Hopefully
once completed it will attract a few people to the Schiit meet in NC. I will indent and round the top a bit, I will also figure out a matching peg on the back for a headphone cable. Looks simple right? That top piece has eight cuts so far not counting what I will be doing to finish it. :beerchug:

What grits and/or method did you use?

I bought some replacement knobs for my silver LM (shiny, aluminum to match my other silver Schiit)...and was going to experiment with the old stock ones...see if I can make 'em shine too, ha!
