“I can’t think of any Gordon Lightfoot song I don’t like,” Bob Dylan once said. “Every time I hear a song of his, it’s like I wish it would last forever.”

I grew up listening to Gordon Lightfoot (still listen to him). My mother absolutely loved him. He was the first concert I ever went too. If you clapped during one of his songs, he stopped and started all over again! LOL

My Web station at the Byron (CA, USA) Shops has a zero-acoustic-signal sound pressure level < 50 dB (sensor 2' (0.61m) from the vent side o' my ASUS® CM1630-06 as upgraded, A weighting, fast response), judging from a Radio Shack® 33-4050 Sound Level Meter.
Even when the Patriots are around ? :)

Oh no!

I hadn't heard the news.

He was a very special artist. A brilliant songwriter, whose story-telling lyrics and haunting melodies were masterful. He also had a lovely, rich voice.

I was introduced to his music in 1970, with the album 'Sit Down Young Stranger' which was later re-released as 'If You Could read My Mind'.

It is a superb album which, in my opinion, is a serious contender for the elusive 'flawless album' ,as every track is so good.

I was lucky to see him play live at The Royal Albert Hall in the early 70s. It was a superb concert

I have loads of his albums and listening to them will have extra poignancy now.

RIP Gordon.

Buying more than you need won't necessarily make you future-proof
…. if the wallet is chronically empty, you are future-proofed: you can’t afford getting there! 😳🤪😳🤪

They also offer a BYO kit with links to a third party flat pack. You can make your own for considerably less.

(Something way more a @Paladin79 thing than mine - living in a condo I have no access to woodworking.)
.
Ah thanks, unfortunately I dont have woodworking access either

I am thinking of just getting a (2nd hand) soundbar (that's all my desk can fit with all of that schiit and other stuff) and use that as the center channel first and just use that with a sub and powered monitors (i.e. no back speakers). Is that a good idea?

You won't be. There will be no headroom for dynamics and you won't be able to play music at what I consider a reasonable listening level. Pick some speakers that are 95+ db efficient and it would be a different story.

I may have missed it, but has anyone compared the G-horn with Aeger for SQ?

Also not yet, but how would the Tektoon Lore Ref do with 10 watts?
