Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

The biggest sound improvement I've experienced this year cost me nothing, but a small amount of time.

I moved my loudspeakers 3 inches each after reading the following thread, and watching the included & thankfully short video. I had already spent four months trying to find the best spot for my new loudspeakers in my problematic small room. I was already aware that very small speaker location changes can bring large sonic changes, but was amazed at the improvement this change made. I went from from liking my speakers, to damn near loving them.

BTW, I do own Jim Smith's book and can recommend it.
I just checked my speakers and I am at .8288, I just used an office chair and rolled it back till I found my perfect sweet spot. I just have to get Finnegan out of my listening chair and I am in business. Having a tiled floor with one foot square tiles helps a bit with alignment as well..

Easier to move a mountain than a cat!

You were at .8288 already? That's pretty impressive!

Yep, my listening area has stayed about the same for 35 years. At this point in time the distance between the tweeters is right at 7.66 feet, 8 feet would be about the max.

Well now those is fighting words!!
lol!

I do research work for the USS North Carolina, BB55. The first of the 10 fast battleships in WW2. 15 battle stars.
45,000 tons fully loaded. 728 '.
She is the State of North Carolinas WW2 Memorial for all services in WW2.

Talk about using vacuum tubes!! OMG, tons of NOS tubes from the 30's/40's still unused in the original boxes.

A boy scouts exploration dream come true, even for us older boy scouts senior citizens!

Somewhat related, I just toured the Midway with my father who served on it from 60-63. There is no scale a normal person has until they step foot on one of these warships.

My Formula is even simpler Audio quality is inversely proportional to the volume of single malt scotch remaining in the glass

Have you tried the 16 yo french oak cask balvenie?

Been staring at it the last 3 months whenever I walk into the liquor store, but at 168 before tax its out of my self allowed price range.
I have and that is an exceptional price for an amazing scotch! For special occasions it is always the 21 year old Portwood for me but that 16 year old is right up there. 17 year old double wood is quite good as well.

My son will be here at Xmas so I am sure we will grab a good bottle of scotch. He makes a margarita that is to die for but in colder weather I prefer whiskies and port wine.
Are you a fan of Blanton's straight from the barrel bourbon? I may grab one of those as a present for him. I did not see it that last time I visited his place.
