We'll see...

(insert years of waiting here)

...how it goes.
When it is finally released, please, please, name it the 'Arglebargle X1000' or 'Craphound PST-1.' :D

For two years, it made me wear a Nutty Buddy athletic cup to bed with a little bell on it, whenever I was with a lady, so I'd be awakened if anything untoward was in the offing (so to speak).
TMI!

I am glad there is no need to come to consensus on burn-in and other audiophile esoterica, and that even people who will never see eye to eye on those things can all still enjoy listening to music through nice stuff. Music is the biggest tent, unites us all :)

Yep. I'll stay out of any debate involving burn-in, whether or not cables affect sound and to what extent, and belt drive vs. direct drive turntables. 😵‍💫

Oh, and I once saw a music forum blow up, with multiple casualties (deactivated accounts) over a discussion of modern vs. traditional classical music. 😦

Let me introduce you to a notorious and (in my subjective opinion) mostly ridiculous objectivist Audio Forum That Shall Not Be Named 🥱

I am agnostic on the issue. I have no way of knowing how much is brain burn-in and how much hardware burn-in. All I know is I do experience changes when I use new gear.

Gear burns in. Brains burn out. :joy_cat:

Palette cleanser.

Priscilla Ahn’s first album, and her soundtrack album from Studio Ghibli’s ‘When Marnie was Here’ are two of my desert island discs…

Clearly the morons who defend anything written after 1860 were wrong.

That's no fair! You probably get some sort of inside deal on medical grade stuff <pout>.
Pre-2020, Monoprice sells sold medical grade power cords, in multi-packs and different lengths for reasonable prices. Try keywords “hospital” “iec” “c13”

(Added)
Just went on their site, 2022 global supply madness, only 1 product available right now :triportsad:

Did you buy these as normal or from the deals page? Because the deals page doesn't give you an option to select the plug type.

To clarify I have ordered before directly from Schiit and had no issues but this is the first time ordering from the deals page.

Will find out tomorrow anyhow

Apparently you need to add in the plug type and voltage as a note before checkout. I got carried away with the BFCM spirit and forgot to do that for my recent order

I’d actually really like to see the new modi multi in a Modius chassis. I think it would look the part In it’s price category as well.
The precedent is set by Modius, to have a Modi more than the small size.

Another example of this is the Loki, which has had several incarnations.

Brilliant! A different Schiit amp for every possible headphone impedance! Collect them all! :k701smile:
Magni Monos. Balanced connections from the Freya Mini (SYS/Freya S).

Speaker edition: Class ? amplification of 30- 120 watts in class A.

Headphone edition: Electrostatic. Might not be monos, might be Power/Amp in two boxes.

yeah I know. Dumb idea.

But about that Freya mini ....

Now i really want a ArgleBargle X1000

I 'd suggest skipping the ArgleBargle X1000 and moving to the upgraded ArgleBargle X1010-B.

Subjectively, to summarize, I like the "10-B" (as its fans call it) more, in almost every way.

Objectively, the printout of my listening tests on the 10-B weigh 22.64% more (!!!!) than my printed notes on the "double-nought." That's a significant difference. (I confess those are unadjusted numbers, I didn't compensate for the loss in moisture over time in the deposited inkjet printer ink in the older notes vs the new notes with a laser printer. Just lazy I guess.)

But ... winner winner! Works for both camps. (Luckily. Sometime we get split decisions.)

More importantly ... that Jason chapter on subjectivists vs objectivists is HOF material. We should re-post/revisit it every year, just like we revisit A Christman Story, with its Red Ryder BB gun, the leg lamp, etc. Both are classics.
