Exactly. I don't see the issue. Youngster are completely ok to listen to mono. Let people listen to what they prefer. What is right for one is wrong for the other. Some believe the earth is flat which is fine with me as long they let me believe it is round. I still have the dream that the audio file printed in studios (>90% 24bit 48kHz) can be played like that everywhere and if people want to dsp that, why not.
The problem I have with this is recordings mastered to sound good on "regular" audio gear sound poor on capable audio gear unless there is expensive DSP employed to reverse what was done during mastering. However, it would be pretty easy, it seems to me, to include a compression circuit in "regular" gear to make natural recordings sound loud and "good".

There are many products, public policies and ideas these days which only accommodate one group. It's a shame.

You should have opted for "Your honor, I was trying to pickup NOS GE tubes before @Ripper2860 could snatch them from under my nose!"
LOL! But telling a cop I knew a guy named Ripper probably wouldn't have helped my case.

Certainly not in England...

I finally got the go ahead from the boss to get a Sol about 2 months ago. Unfortunately they were out of stock. Spent the last 2 months checking the website DAILY hoping to catch one. Now the Sol product page is gone. Its a real bummer for me. Anyone got one sitting in a box they dont want? Maybe Jason has a floor model he wants to divest to me? Anyone want to help my vinyl dreams come true?
I would look around for a classically styled new phonograph or (perhaps!) even better, a used one from what ever you deem your Golden Era to be. For example, for Receivers, mine is the 70s...But then I was young. Then. I like turntables from then too.

And I do realize that desire is only made stronger when some thing is no longer readily available. In the case of the Sol, while I do not much care for it, I can see why others do and under stand all too well the pain of unrequited vinylustificationalizifying...Yeah. I made that last "word" up. By the way, I still want a 1982 Honda CBX and this in spite of knowing that the maintenance costs would still kill that lust in very short order. Oh but those first few hundred miles would make me feel like....Batman!

BatToad? Nah...Batman!

First "real" performance care was a 1972 TR6 - blast to drive, although constant syncing of dual stromberg carbs, along with topping off rear knee shocks with 30W oil......

The original ... WHEN they went ... they went well !!

And as long as we (I am) are posting about small rear drive cars, roadsters, what have you

I don't have a pic, but a neighbor has a *running* Fiat X1/9

Well, I've seen it drive around the neighborhood once
Had a new red 1975. Loved that car but it quickly became mechanically unsound and I sold it for a used, garaged, Chevy SS, which I then drove on a move from TX to WA. That Fiat was a real girl-getter, especially out at the lake.

My Yggy GS arrived today! I’ve read a number of comments saying it needs a long time to break in. To me it sounds fantastic right out of the box. Music just sounds more relaxed. Detail is excellent and over all scale sounds more natural. My Modi MB sounded good but a little weird at first. It took a couple of weeks to settle down but it really impressed me with just how musical it sounded. So far I’m quite happy with Yggy GS. (I would hope so for the money!)
Leave it powered on. It will continue to improve over a few days. Happy listening :)

I'm sad to see the Sol page be removed from the Schiit site, though the writing was on the wall for a long time.

This doesn't bode well for the market for my 3D printed Sol tonearm holder....

I wonder if Schiit could make limited production runs of the Sol (and tone arms) every so often? Kind of like McDonalds does with the McRib and green milk shakes (except people might actually want a Sol...).

I think the issue was manufacturing difficulties, rather than demand. I'd think doing it occasionally would only hurt their yields of successful castings.

Hopefully tonearms and belts can remain available.
