Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Donner pass to sugar bowl... every time it poured in the Bay Area, drove up and it was guaranteed dumping. Only once have I spun a 720 on 80 going over the top... and only once 360. Listening to hip-hop at top volume. Now I ski with two edges instead of boarding, and I climb up with AT gear nearly as much as I take the lifts. But I miss those days...
Donner was quite often a tough mess. I lived in Folsom and always took 50 up to South Tahoe. Luckily, never a problem even in the worst snow. Seemed like the state of CA employed someone with a snow plow every few miles. Easy drive thereafter all around the lake. And excellent skiing. Yep - miss those days too....Few places to ski in East TN.

Is "the" exclusively a SoCal thing? It is not used in Northern California. Is it used elsewhere in the US?
In San Jose it was "101," "280", "85," "17", "880," "580." But if we were driving south to LA or north to Oregon, we did it on THE 5. :)

Is that like a term of endearment, like 'THE Ohio State University'? :D

Because you guys are the schiit I thought I’d repost what I said in the Grado thread:

So I pulled the trigger on the magni 3+/ modi 3 (schiit stack.) to complement my GH3/ Hemp. What should I expect in regards to improvements over my usb c iPad dongle or MacBook headphone jack?

I notice subtle differences in the sound between those two devices. I think the dongle is a little smoother but more congested sounding, MacBook is wider, cleaner, more sub bass but can be a bit too bright with the gh3. It seems the schiit stack is a good pairing for Grado headphones, in that Grado even recommends them. I guess I’m just worried that they might resemble the MacBook, and the MacBook while being “better” than the iPad dongle in terms of sounding more open it makes the relatively warm GH3 sound piercing.

If anyone has any schiit stack impressions to share I would love to hear them!

As the snow is melting away and the winter fun (ice skating on the canals and lakes) is over, I recall the Live stream with Mike an him stating that his priority one project is making the best DS there is. Will the next step up be an Yggy upgrade be a FPGA-type DS like Chord instead of the AD R2R-chips?

You were not a REAL Californain then. To a NorCal person it's always I5 no matter where you are.
Well I was definitely an import having been moved to NorCal by the Navy in 1979, but in the 30 years I lived there it was always THE 5 to everyone I knew. It was I-80 across the Bay Bridge...

I was born and raised on the coast. I've always said 'The 5'. Sometimes I'd even say 'The 101' but usually it's just 1, 17, 101, 280, 85, etc. Down south, Hwy 1 is usually called PCH.

I'm not sure I speak for all OSU fans, I grew up in Ohio, but I always felt "THE" was beyond stupid. However, that may be because I attended Ohio University in Athens. I will also kindly overlook your support of Michigan.

I'm glad to hear your safe and sound @Jasonstoddard

Oh and.... O-H!
