Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

One of the planes I worked on in the Air Force had big windows fitted into the side of the fuselage to allow cameras to record things and the scientists had some special cleaner for those windows but in case they were cross country or out of the country and ran out, they had a bottle of this. As far as I know it was never used.

Hmm....why is there so much orange juice here???

.....{{snip}}}}....and a Fiero not on fire......{{snip}}}...
Was the Pontiac (?) Fiero the sports car with the cooling issue (radiators too far away from the powerplant... or something about restricted airflow).

Not really wanting to searching this whole thread, is there an opinion from those who may have heard the Bifrost Unison vs Gen 5 as to the potential sound difference?
My vote: it's a subtle difference. As I understand it, Unison was developed in-house while Gen-5 was a tricked-out chipset from CMedia.

Drove my Fiero GT for 15 years. Fun car.

My '74 Porsche 914 2 liter had an annoying tendency to vapor lock on hot days, though. You had to go fast to keep it cool. :D

I don’t really want higher bit rates. I think having more samples per second may be more important.

Can't argue that point, although anything above 96Khz sampling rate really does nothing for me.

On a side note, just saw on the news that some brands of hand sanitizer are being pulled from shelves because they were found to be using methanol instead of either ethanol or isopropanol. Of course, the labels are falsely misleading. So, trust your nose! I still find it strange when I use some of the new hand sanitizer I have made from ethanol. It's coconut scented. It smells like a piña colada and I have to keep reminding myself to not drink it!

Yep. In the optics business, finger oils are a killer so it's either nitrile gloves or latex finger cots, plus spectroscopic-grade acetone and methanol for cleaning. Large size gloves are difficult to come by. So far, finger cots and XL gloves (which I need) are not as high demand, so I'm still set (for now). We use HPLC Grade Isopropanol and HPLC Acetone at work. Not cheap stuff at around $80 a gallon.

Tell me about it. I don't know how many gallons of those plus methanol we go through a month, but it's in the double digits. When I was safety officer for the company back in the 90's, I'd ship out a 55 gallon drum filled with waste solvent every couple of months. It was waste because we needed to use acetone to ultrasonically clean all of the stainless hardware used in the lasers we built. Needless to say, our purchaser was always grumpy when I told her we needed another case of x...

Granted, I do know that those decisions were made to reduce file sizes back when storage was at a premium. Today, storage limitations are pretty much a thing of the past so give me every last iota of the music, please.

As I understand it, the Schiit Mega combo buritto filter works by upsampling 16/44, 16/48 files... Curious if anyone hears a difference with HD sources or perhaps I don't properly understand how schiit applies their filter?

Mike's filter is one of the main reasons I am planning to purchase BF2
