Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Try explaining - God, Dxxx the Pusher Man not God Dxxx the Pusher Man to a WW2 vet church involved dad. To his credit he just let it go.

LOL! Fortunately I purchased Steppenwolf Gold with lawnmowing money so it never suffered the parental knowledge or scrutiny. :)

I’m all set: I have the multibit card in my Asgard3, and my Lyr3 is fed by Bifrost2. And, I also have a Modi Multibit/Magni3 stack, as well as a Modi2U/Magni2U combo.

So why do I find myself wanting to buy a Modius?:smile:

Actually, Mom and I do a little happy dance when he takes his damn cans off. I swear he sleeps with them on.

He's developed a pretty wide range of musical "likes" for a teenager. He likes some of the rock I like as well as some of the new stuff I don't like. Hopefully my playing some classical and jazz over the stereo (so it fills the house) while he's around is sinking into his brain so he has some place to turn when he needs something new and different to listen to.

Try playing some Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. ELP turned me onto classical. I still listen to Aaron Copland because of my early love of ELP and prog rock. Plus, it presents classical music with a beat, which makes it easier for non-classical listeners to swallow.

I had the good fortune of seeing ELP in 1977 when they were on tour with an Orchestra. One piece that was a standout was Keith Emerson's "Piano Concert #1." A monumental concert at Madison Square Garden.

Yep...ELP was definitely one my Dad liked; also Blood Sweat and Tears, Yes, Guess Who, Brian Auger Oblivion Express, Chicago, Looking Glass, some BTO (still remember him running into my room when Blue Collar was playing...thought I'd bought a jazz album ) and even some Allman Bros (in Memory of Elizabeth Reed).

I remember a Jeep-like small Lada SUV from the 70s and 80s. I always thought that it looked cool, but I was told that the gearbox was so crude that you almost had to kick the gear lever to select a gear.
The utterly epic Lada Riva that still outperforms a great many very pricy so called Sports Utility Vehicles when it comes to reall off-roading. All those obese gasguzzlers just sink into the mud where the fly-weight Riva just keeps on going.

Edit: It`s the Niva, definiately not the Riva :)

ELP at Charlotte Moter Speedway. Speakers set up at each corner and more. We were in the in field apx. 100 yards from stage. Talk about surround sound.
Part of the Peach Tree festival (as/if I remember it).

Edit:
August Jam 1974

Edit 2:
Our group had tickets, arrived early, brought provisions, claimed a good spot and stayed late after to let traffic clear.

Way back when, I was playing my new UK import of Tales From Topographic Oceans. Dad stuck his head into the room and said, "That's not bad, who's that?"

"Yes," I replied. And we had our own Abbot and Costello moment...

On another subject, I too would really appreciate the new transport handling SACDs. But, combining Mike's oft-stated antipathy to the format with the difficulty of finding a reasonably-priced mechanism to use, best to abandon all hope right now. Then again, I'm still hoping for a Schiit pre with a balance control...

Because you have an audio addiction. No vaccine for it yet either. :)

The only known cure is having no $ and all credit cards at max. :unamused:

Don't think of it as a Modius. Think of it as a Gungnir Jr. Now, doesn't that help...? :L3000:

Unless you are the curator of the official Schiit Museum, you are hopeless... :unamused:
