adydula,
will you kindly let me know what kind of vacuum tubes are those are, I assume not 6SN7s, and their purpose as they appear to include a very high voltage ceramic insulator within the tube rather than the more normal small ceramic insulators or mica plates?

Ha!

This is a TOP Secret project...cant really share any details here...

if its being used for what I think it is, definitely not a DIY project for tyros. will need to a specific type of transducers for this application, with proper RF shielding given the high bandwidth of the device.

These are the driver guard tubes for it, complete with properly affixed "Danger, Will Robinson" stickers. :)

Sol on truck for delivery today. Interesting weekend ahead.

Everyone stay healthy, but heed the Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy, and Don't Panic!

Nice, mine shows to be delivering Sunday...

Dang, I forgot to add my HHGttG part...

I'm wondering if there is a notice posted somewhere about an intergalactic highway that we haven't found...

...I'm just derping along, giving my Ether Cs a rest and switching over to a Valhalla 2 - BifrostMB - Beyer DT880 One-Two punch.

Always liked that setup! :beerchug:
...and that block of incandescent foolishness keeps this part of the living room warm. All hail vacuum tube aural nonsense!

Yeah...the volume knob thing was funny! :)

Eventually, I decided to pack it in on OTL amps -- sold the Valhalla 2 and replaced it with an Asgard 3. Just don't like the 4 tube thing (sorry @bcowen !). I did however get a hybrid amp as well to allow for some tubey goodness when I feel like it

Get a set of Socket savers for front and back tubes. You'll be amazed at how much cooler it runs by lifting those hot tubes up a bit. Made a huge difference in my case.

I'm not with the 4 tube thing either. Much better to go with 6. Per channel. :) :)
