I just watched the Vidar build video, which is pretty cool. Is there a spacer between the board and the metal base? How do you keep the board from shorting out? I've had PC motherboards with long leads touch the bottom of the case, even with standoffs...

OH... I did not know that ! :astonished:

I already have about 20 vintage and new 6922, many 74 and 75 Reflektor, some of which really are amazing... currently considering a secondary preamp, thinking of a Freya, but really would prefer to use my current tubes...
I remembered something about the voltage on Saga was lower, and perhaps that would provide a better match for the 6922 (also if OK, this would give some options to current Saga users).

I have had a few other tube pres and DAC's (though no 6SN7 based) and the Reflektor 6922 was the most transparent I have heard in my system.

If you try this, would love to see your impressions posted at the Saga Tube Rolling thread!

In regards to the lower voltage of the Saga .. a 6SNGT (not GTA or GTB) might interest you.

I will be quiet yet applaud you use of quit and quite in the same sentence.

Well done! Both on- and off-topic at the same time...a masterpiece.

I'm still watching for correct usage of your and you're.
No chance for the "t" words to make it...

Watch, listen, and learn, my 1st grade teacher told us.
She had emigrated from Ukraine. Mrs. Rosenbaum.

The power companies do use reactive loads intentionally, too. A famous disconnect of such a load was recorded on videotape, not because it was a reactive load, but because they wanted to diagnose a disconnect switch failure. The footage has been often shared:

Now I do wonder if Dave's shunt load produced such a show as well.

(obSchiit: Looking forward to the next installment)

That reminds me of Forbidden Planet. Maybe Dave is trying to control his monsters from the Id.

Hey, I believe in one of these threads about Schiit the designer of the DAC chip used in Yggy commented, does anyone know where those comments were?
