Congrats on the great mention for the new gear on The Audio Beat.

I love the last picture, seeing Schiit's guys using ultra cheap Monoprice cables makes me laugh

Jason finally gives you all a remote and I all I see are complaints. Seriously guys?

I'm very happy that we're getting a remote, because I won't buy a preamp that doesn't have one.

But he did say to mention if we would be willing to pay for a better quality remote.  Presumably it would be offered separately, or as an upgrade, and wouldn't affect people who are fine with the included one.

Finally a proper V-8 engine for Schiit and you want a 4 cylinder??  There is no replacement for displacement.

Understandable.  I'm sure the dude–like me–was just hoping to save some dough.  I've finally amassed a nice collection of 6N23Ps, but of course, that's how this hobby/obsession/disorder goes.

As an aside, I wonder if anyone could please comment on just how much more distortion one might get (ballparkin' it) with 6N9S ('6H9C') / 6SL7 versus the more ideal 6N8S (6H8C) / 6SN7 tubes in the Freya?  I'm a toob noob.

Aside to an aside:  I also wonder if the 6N3P-E tubes might be slightly more doable than 6922s in the Freya, as they're rated at 150 V for anode voltage (I = 350 mA), as opposed to the 6N23P's 100 (I = 310).  By the way:

According a 6N8S (6H8C) datasheet I found, they rated at 250 V.  Same goes for the 6N9S.  Though, filament current-wise, they show ~600 mA and ~300 mA respectively.

Either way, excited to hear this Schiit.

EDIT:  Is this thing on?  I guess not.

Will the power amp have XLR outs?

I don't recall seeing XLR out's on the amps at RMAF. However, these were prototypes and thus the usual caveats apply.

Mono mono everywhere,

And all the chords did shrink.

In fact, what I more than likely did (I honestly don't remember, which lends credence to this guess) is start drinking and thinking about what would make a good preamp.

Whoa.  The dots are connecting...
